Some delays regarding new song

The new song is still in progress, but due to the hectic life of a family man this time of year I haven't been able to finish the vocal parts. But be patient -- it will come.

I've just started doing the vocals on a new track called Raging On. A bit laid-back production-wise but I hope you'll find something to like in it. Hopefully it'll be posted within the week.

Re-released masterpieces

Hollow's two albums have been re-released by Polish label Metal Mind. Modern Cathedral as well as Architect of the Mind have been re-mastered and are now being sold in a new package. The original cover art by Wåhlin has been kept.

I just got my copy and there is a significant improvement. Both records sound clearer and punchier. Keep in mind that the edition is limited to 2,000 copies. Mine was number 273. Who'll get number 666? Let me know!

I've put two old songs on the myspace page. The one called Ambiguous Life is pretty unfinished regarding vocals, but I think it's new to even very old fans. The song Invinsible is one that has been with Hollow for more than a decade.

Finally a new song!

Thanks to my friend Joe who's supplied me with the lyrics I've finally written a new song. It's written from start to end and I'm planning to start recording today or tomorrow. The song will be melodic with acoustic parts and the title will probably be Above the Living or The Machines Have Risen. I'll dare attentive listeners to spot a loan from Judas Priest's more recent songs when a demo is posted. Rock on!

Good evening! Glad to tell you that I recently purchased another guitar. It's another Yamaha, this time an AES820. I'm a bit unused to the Gibson Les Paul style but I like it a lot and playing is great fun.

Studio almost done

I'm almost done building my small studio. Right now I'm waiting for a firewire sound card and after it has arrived I'll be able to start recording again. It'll be interesting to hear what I'll sound like after a couple of years of silence. Singing as well as composing should have changed a bit - perhaps?

To all you patient people: I'm still here. Recently I bought a small amplifier and I've been playing a lot more these last couple of weeks. Hopefully this will result in more songs! The amp is a Roland Cube 15 and I'm pretty pleased with it.

Although I can't please anyone with new music I can still wish you a happy 2006. Hopefully this year will be rewarding to you all and one of my wishes - most of them are about the well-being of my kids and my family - is that I'll be able to spend more time writing songs.

Trying with the labels again

Just wanted to let you know that I'm going to send out a couple of songs to different labels this week. The tracks I'm going to put on the demo are: Borders of the Mind, A New Meaning and Sometime Soon - all of which can be found on this site. Hopefully this could mean that you get to listen to the songs with a proper recording eventually. But, who knows?

I've finally managed to finish another song. I'm ridiculously pleased with it and you can download it here: Borders of the Mind. The server is rather slow, but I urge you to be patient.

Right now I'm listening a lot to Lamb of God, Chimaira and metal of that kind. I usually tend to dismiss growlers but the music compensates. Any tips of bands I might have missed due to this vocal style are appreciated. Or is it so that LoG and Chimaira are the best in their genre?

What are you lookin for ...

in a band? When I find a new interesting group it's mostly because they do something that I haven't heard before, be it vocally or musically. However, the new bands I like still have to write songs with segments that stick, melodies I can recognize and be able to play their instruments in a way that stretches what's metal.

Apart from that I appreciate a strand of honesty - something that tells me this group does this, not because they want to make money but because they have something to tell or express. Is it just me, or have groups like that become more rare in the last couple of years? If so, why?

I'm providing a rough draft for the next song. After buying Nevermore's latest CD, I thought I'd try mimicking their style a bit. It's hard and as the work progresses I find that it tends to sound more and more Hollow, which hopefully isn't so bad.

Just wanted you to know that I'm working on more songs. Right now there are two unfinished songs in my computer. One of them only lacks lyrics and vocals and the other mostly consists of ideas regarding verse and chorus. I suppose they will be in the line of the more recent material, kind of like God is Dead.
