What are you lookin for ...

in a band? When I find a new interesting group it's mostly because they do something that I haven't heard before, be it vocally or musically. However, the new bands I like still have to write songs with segments that stick, melodies I can recognize and be able to play their instruments in a way that stretches what's metal.

Apart from that I appreciate a strand of honesty - something that tells me this group does this, not because they want to make money but because they have something to tell or express. Is it just me, or have groups like that become more rare in the last couple of years? If so, why?

I really need to "feel" for their music.. I can't really explain it, but some music just leave me untouched and others i just can't stop listen to. I usually like songs that it seems that noone else like, if a band have a couple of "best" songs, i usualle enjoy the others more. But not allways :P I mostly listen to rock, such as Sator, Queen, Def leppard, Led Zeppelin, Motley Crue, Scorpions and Metal, for example Queensryche, Rage, Pretty Maids, Morgana Lefay, Kamelot, iced Earth and Hollow :P Should also mention Ayeron :P Great music. You should check out any of those bands if you havent heard them yet.

My musical tastes are pretty varied. I like all sorts of metal and progressive music. I generally can appreciate a band who is doing something original with their sound, but I can also accept the fact that practically everything has been done before. It's hard to pinpoint one aspect of music that I'm looking for -- I know what I like when I hear it, though.
